Should I get my Paid vacation?

If you get 10 days paid vacation after your 1 year anniversary, which is prorated until January 1 are you earning that 10 days the prior year? For example if you were leaving your job after 3 years in February would you be entitled to your 10 days vacation (which started over in January) paid? Hard to explain....sorry.|||where are you?

laws vary greatly by state

in MOST states this is a matter of policy but a few (very few) states do require earned vacation to be paid out.......|||California doesn't require vacation to be given. However, If it is given, you are entitled to be paid on termination. From your question I would say you get nothing the first year and then ten days per year after earned prorated monthly. Other states are different.|||You are not *entitled* to any vacation pay, ever. It is entirely up to your company's policy whether or not they choose to pay you any or all of what vacation pay you may have earned.|||If you leave voluntarily, you are entitled to nothing. If you are laid off, they probably would give you vacation pay.|||In most states if you leave your job you do not have to be paid out any vacation.
