Are companies required to provide paid vacation to their employees in California?

My company doesn't provide any benefits whatsoever..No health benefits, overtime, paid vacation, raises..It's the ultimate dead end job..and the pay sucks too.

But by the law, aren't they supposed to at least provide their employees with paid vacation after a year of services? They say we can take a day off without pay providing the day can get covered by another employee.|||Vacation pay is not required in California either through state or federal law.|||No, they are not.

It is your choice to accept a salary or be paid by the hour for that company.

But, at the same time, you are free to leave, you are not obligated to the company.

So, the company is not obligated to you. You simply take it or leave what they offer.|||If you are an hourly worker, I know a lot of places don't offer paid vacation time.

Overtime pay is required if you work overtime hours though (unless you are getting paid salary).|||a company does not have to provide paid vacation.
