Is it legal to take away paid vacation and sick time in Illinois?

Hi everyone,





Is it legal to take away paid vacation and sick time from full time employees in Illinois? My mom's work just did this to everyone in the company, excluding the heads of the departments so only those select few people will still receive paid time off. It is not a nationwide company, but a lot of people work for it. I don't know if it makes a difference, but she works at a Hotel. Are they allowed to do this? If not, who should she go about contacting?|||It may be ethically unfair but perfectly legal. With the rate at which companies are downsizing and laying people off they are perfectly within their legal rights to discontinue certain benefits amongst employees.|||Yes, it is legal.

They are doing that to save money. Don't be surprise if they start letting people go.|||there is no law that says anyone gets sick time or vacation in any state, it is a gift from the employer
