Is it legal for an employer to give paid vacation?

Is it legal for an employer to give paid vacation time to employees that work on a Friday for a company sponsored event while not giving the same vacation time to employees that work a Sun-Thur schedule and do not work Friday? There are roughly 10 people that work on Sunday-Thur out of over 100 employees. Everyone else will receive the bonus vacation time, but the 10 individuals that work Sun-Thur whill not. Is this lega?|||Yes, they are basically receiving compensation for working the extra day.|||Unless the vacation is offered in violation of an EEOC discrimination guideline, or a violation of a union contract or collective barganing agreement, they may offer time to the people they choose|||Sure it is. Its the companies money. Just because you are jealous of those other employees doesn't make it illegal.

Maybe next year they'll have the event on a Sunday and you'll get the paid time off.|||sure it's legal, a company can do whatever they want.
