Is it okay to go on FMLA once a year for an extra 3 month paid vacation?

Now - don't get upset about it. It's all good - it's like having another 3 months paid vacation.

Would you do it even if you hated the company?

It's not my fault they offer FMLA.|||1) FMLA is UNPAID

2) To do what you suggest is immoral and makes you a scumbag

3) If they verify you will be fired for cause

Please see a doctor for a transplant to become human.|||You need to do some research. You can go on FMLA. It's not paid time off. You have to have a valid reason why. You just can't say it's personal. The federal government made it a law to require employers to hold a person's job, salary, hours, etc. while they are out. If it's for medical reasons, you still have to have a doctor's note saying why you were out.

If you want a 3 month vacation, take a leave of absence. Guaranteed if you do this every year, you are going to screw yourself. Here is the web site for the Dept of Labor. You can brush up on what you are entitled to as an employee.|||FMLA is NOT necessarily paid. All FMLA does is guarantee your position or a comparable or better one will be available to you when you get back. Most people do not get paid or do not get their full pay on FMLA but their seniority and benefits continue.

I would recommend against abusing FMLA as you can be forced to pay back any pay you do receive as well as benefits etc.

Even for people who really are ill the company keeps in touch with doctors etc. to see how you are doing and encourages the doctors to release you to return to work ASAP or if it is for a family member you may have to release enough records so they know you really do have an ill family member for whom you are responsible.

I mean -- you cannot for example say to your cousin Alice ``I will take care of your mother because I can get FMLA so don`t worry about it.`` But if it is your parent or grandparent or child or spouse who lives with you -- that is what it was meant for.

Your attitude sucks. If you ever want a promotion or anything you need to step up.|||HUH?

I think they would catch on if you have a family medical leave every year. That is pretty unethical. If I hated a company I would probably find a job. It is not your fault they offer it. It is your fault though when so many deserving people don't receive it, because bad apples like you make it harder for them.|||thats for pregnant women

its illegal to claim it and not need it.

you will be fired and probably jailed for stealing
