Mome letting employees know that they need to take time of in order to get paid for their vacation?

Employees ask to be paid for their vacation and dint take time off. We need to let them know that in order to get paid for their vacation they actually have to take time off. Is this legal to do? How can I word this memo?|||For specific labor laws you need to contact your States' labor board or (L %26amp; I). schemes often break down if the employee is not able to come to work to "keep the books cooked"|||I've never heard of anyone expecting to get vacation time, if they didn't take vacation days... except for if they no longer work at the place. Yes it's legal to not pay people for vacation pay if they were working that day, otherwise they'd be earning twice their regular pay.
