Is it illegal to be denied ones paid vacation after termination in the state of Mass?

I did not break company policy nor did i have any write ups, was with the company for 1 year 5 months|||There are laws requiring employers to honor vacation time while you are employed, however, they do not apply to you once you are terminated. Vacation benefits are designed so that you may take vacation time off from work and still get paid for those days. You can't very well take vacation time off from a job where you are no longer employed.

You are, however, most likely eligible for unemployment insurance through your local EDD.|||In some companies, once you are let go, if there is no union contract, you are just out of luck.|||unless you have it in writing that you get it even after being fired then you lose it...and you had to do SOMETHING to get fired from|||If it's a paid vacation benefit and you don't take it and were layed-off, are you given salary for the time you accrued and didn't use? You should ask for it and see. Why don't you talk to your state labor commissioner. Be your own advocate. At least you'll know next time what to do and what to look for. That's how people get experience in life. Good luck, dear person.
