Can you deny a salaried employee paid vacation?
My husband works for a small single owner restaurant as a salaried manager in OH. He has been working there since May and never taken ill or vacation time. He wants 5 days off for his 30th birthday, and the owner is saying she can't pay him for the time he is gone. Is this legal?|||time off is not governed by any law it is completely at the discretion of the employer|||Yes it is legal. Paid vacation is a benefit an employer MAY chose to give to their employees. There is no law stating it is required.|||Paid vacation is a benefit that the owner can choose to offer to employees or not. So yes it is legal.
