Can I still get my paid vacation?

If i were to put my 2 weeks notice at my job, and havent used my vacation time, can i ask them for the check? or will it just go to waste?|||Usually vacation time is accrued in the year before it is taken. The typical practice is to write a check for unused vacation hours.....
